You are Nigeria’s problem – Fr E Dey Work blasts Governors

The Spiritual Director Canaanland Counselling Centre, A. K. A. E Dey Work, Rev Fr Dr Magnus Ebere, SDV, has come down heavily on State Governors in Nigeria for obstructing the full autonomy of Local Governments.

Preaching on the theme “understanding your Dominion Rights” during the Covenant Day of all round Dominion, at Umuoma Ezinihitte Mbaise Centre of the Ministry on Wednesday, Fr. Ebere popularly known as Fr. E Dey Work described the continued stifling of the Local Government system by the Governors as wicked and unpatriotic.

The fiery Priest who commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for standing behind the full autonomy of the third tier of Government, noted that the greed has led the Governors to conduct the most corrupt, rigged and manipulated Local Government elections producing only their preferred Candidates as winners.

Reminding them of the current political situation in Rivers State between a God Father and the Son, the outspoken Priest prophesied that Most Governors and their installed Chairmen will be at logger heads within the next six months as God is angry with the attitude of the Governors.

“I’m saying it with certainty, the Chairmen they fraudulently installed will fight them soon”, Fr Ebere made it clear.

While appreciating President Tinubu for ensuring the release of more money to States and Local Governments, Fr E Dey work noted with concern that the Governors were not giving good account of the huge increase in their allocations through impactful palliatives and infrastructural development.

He therefore challenged State Governors to introduce policies that could cushion the bitting effects of the Oil subsidy removal, particularly in transportation and other welfare programmes.

“If Tinubu agreed to give Local Governments autonomy, then he is good. Tinubu is not the problem but our problem is our brothers “, the fiery Priest thundered.

Fr E Dey Work who also commended the reopening of Port Harcourt refinery, lamented that most good intentions of the present administration have been sabotaged by some Officials around the President and prayed God to dismantle the cabal frustrating the good of all Nigerians for their selfish interests.

“You know, I’m not a politician but I will keep telling them the truth,” he
noted.
The Catholic Priest restated his resolve to keep praying for the country and assured the people that greater turnarounds shall be witnessed.
