The Wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Priscilla Chidinma Otti has enjoined women to always remain loyal and supportive to their husbands to ensure the growth of their families and communities.
Mrs Otti who made this known at the 2024 annual August meeting convention of Umunneochi women held at peace comprehensive school Amuda Isuochi in Umunneochi LGA, pointed out that the essence of August meeting is to discuss issues concerning women and proffer solutions on how to better society,
She described August meeting as a veritable means of attracting lasting projects and development to the community and congratulated the women on their day.
The Wife of the Governor noted that the present administration has packaged many programmes for Abia women such as provision of interest-free loans for 10,000 macro and micro businesses across the state and promised that her office will continue to work alongside security agencies to tackle the menace of gender-based violence in the interest of women and children.
In their contributions, the member representing Umunneochi state constituency, Mr Mathias Umeh and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Health, Mrs Ngozi Azodo assured that the present administration will continue to prioritize their welfare and advised them to continue supporting it’s activities.
In their separate speeches, the Mayor Umunneochi LGA, Mr Ndubuisi Ike, and the founder, Oluebube Chukwu Foundation, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu while wishing the women a successful August meeting convention thanked the state Governor, Dr Alex Otti for restoring security to the area, which has according to them, brought about peace in Umunneochi.
Earlier in her address, the Wife of the Mayor Umunneochi LGA, Mrs Sylvia Ndubuisi-Ike expressed the Joy of Umunneochi women over the efforts of the State Government and thanked the wife of the Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti further for her immeasurable love and care for Abia women.
Some women including Mrs Precious Ogbajie, and Mrs Chinwe Ugwu applauded the wife of the Governor, Mrs Otti for carrying them long in the scheme of things and prayed God to bless and protect her family.
