Nigerian rapper and internet sensation, Darlington Okoye, also known as Akpi has been granted bail about one month after his arrest by the Nigeria Police Force in Imo State Command.
Okoye popularly known as Speed Darlington was allegedly arrested by the Police following a petition by Grammy Award winner, Burna Boy over an alleged affiliation with the embattled US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
Recall, Speedy whose arrest was made public by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, claiming that his client was arrested on directives from Burna Boy, a development that has raised outrage among Nigerian social media users and influencers who called for his immediate release.
However, a renowned lawyer, Stan Alieke in a post on his Instagram story said Speedy has been released after being granted bail by the court.
Alieke who did not provide details of the bail condition wrote, “Apki has been granted bail by the court.”
