Sit – at – home: Unknown Gunmen allegedly silence five in Anambra

Reports from Politics Nigeria say Gunmen, allegedly enforcing the outlawed sit-at-home order, this Monday morning launched a series of deadly attacks across communities in Anambra Central Senatorial Zone.

According to the reports, the attacks occurred between 8 am and 10 am in Abatete, Abagana, and Ukpo, leaving at least five people dead and many more injured.

The first attack was said to have taken place in Abatete town, where gunmen targeted vigilant personnel attached to the town’s President-General (PG).

Three security men were reportedly shot and killed, while the PG was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.

In separate incidents as reported, the gunmen attacked Abagana and Ukpo communities, leaving one Vigilante Group member and a motorcycle rider dead at the Ukpo roundabout in Dunukofia Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, the police have confirmed the incidents, with the spokesperson in the state saying: “The details are still sketchy, but our operatives are currently at the scene. I will get back to you with facts as soon as I can.”
