Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and security agencies for working round the clock to conduct a successful Governorship
President Tinubu in a congratulatory message to Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who was declared winner in Saturday’s Edo State governorship election endorsed by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, described the poll as peaceful and largely hitch-free.
According to him INEC has once again demonstrated that it is committed to organising a free and fair election in Nigeria.
He therefore charged Okpebholo to see his victory as a challenging call to service and encouraged him to demonstrate magnanimity by reaching out to his political rivals and uniting the people of Edo State to ensure its development
President Tinubu also lauded other candidates who participated in the election for their contributions to advancing Nigeria’s democracy and urged those aggrieved by the outcome to seek redress through the legal channels.
