In its avowed determination to continue promoting excellence in humanitarian services, the Rotary Club of Umuahia has honoured The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF) with a Community Service Award.
The colourful event which was part of activities at the installation of the 44th President of the Rotary Club of Umuahia, Rotarian Temitope Nnaomah, on Saturday at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia is in recognition of the tireless efforts of the OACF in advancing humanitarian causes in rural communities, through sustained advocacy, environmental management, genuine contributions to solving pressing issues, and exceptional professionalism in communication and leadership.
Speaking after receiving the award, the Founder,The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation and the SSA to Governor Otti on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu noted that the recognition by the Rotary Club of Umuahia is an evidence of the power of dedication, compassion, and collaborative effort.
While stating that the two organisations share the same vision on humanitarian services, Dr Chukwu pointed out that the combined effort promises a future where rural communities in Abia State and beyond can thrive, benefiting from compassionate individuals and committed organizations.
“It’s heartwarming knowing that our impact contributing is putting smiles on the faces of people. I believe it is the most beautiful art, ever,” Dr. Chukwu observed.
He noted with delight that The OACF has been at the forefront of initiating and sustaining various programs that address critical issues such as health, environmental sustainability, education, economic empowerment and infrastructure development, all aimed at improving the lives of rural dwellers in Abia State and beyond.
The SSA thanked the Rotary Club Umuahia for the honour done the foundation and reiterated its desire to collaborate with the international humanitarian body in addressing the plight of the common man.
“This partnership is built on a mutual belief that collective efforts can bring about substantial change. The Rotary Club’s extensive network and resources, combined with the OACF’s grassroots presence and expertise, will create a powerful synergy aimed at addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by rural communities”, he stated.
In her acceptance speech after being installed, Mrs. Temitope Nnaomah outlined her vision for the Rotary Club under, emphasizing that her Leadership will ensure purpose-driven projects aimed at enhancing the well-being of rural communities.
She pledged her commitment to the goals resonated with the principles that have guided the OACF and stated her desire to continually work with the Foundation.
