Imo state government has announced its decision to reintroduce the Imo State Rural Roads Maintenance Agency, IRROMA, to address the issue of maintenance of all the roads in the state.
Commissioner for works, Ralph Nwosu who disclosed this to Journalists in his office said IRROMA will ensure that all the roads done by the state government are properly maintained in line with international best practices.
He noted that government is currently tackling the problem of pot holes on roads to make them motorable, revealing that, so far, the IBC Achike Udenwa road and other roads around Concord axis have been fixed.
Nwosu explained that owing to the construction of Fly over at the Control Post to tackle the plight of worshippers at Maria Asumpta Cathedral and that of travellers, government has reconstructed the second and third inland roads to create more avenues for free flow of traffic in Owerri the state capital.
He further announced that government will reconstruct the bridge at the third inland road for proper asphalting.
The Commissioner reiterated the state government’s determination to ensure that all the roads in Imo state are totally rehabilitated.
