Rivers Govt identifies unsuccessful bomber

The Rivers State Government has made public the identity of the suspect behind the explosion that happened around the Presidential Hotel Port Harcourt vicinity on Tuesday.

A release endorsed by Nelson Chukwudi, Chief press secretary to the Rivers Governor, named the suspect as Josiah Preye, a university graduate and resident of Port Harcourt.

According to the statement, Preye who is a supporter of Minister Nyesom Wike participated in the solidarity walk on Tuesday in support of the minister.

It further revealed that Preye, a graduate of Imo state University was part of a larger plot to cause chaos and anarchy in the state, sponsored by loyalists of Nyesom Wike.

The statement further alleged that the suspect was part of the gang including thugs and cultists hired by the sponsors of the unsuccessful attempt to cause panic in the state

Preye, said to be an employee of Sky Packing Materials Trd: LLC, is currently battling injuries sustained from the failed bombing attempt, the statement added.

The government had on Thursday released a 50-second video showing Preye participating in the walk and another video of him in the intensive care unit of a medical facility.
