The Spiritual Director, Canaanland Counselling Centre, A. K. A, E – Dey – Work, Rev. Fr. Dr. Magnus Ebere, SDV, has warned political Leaders in the country against insisting on policies that continue inflicting hardship on the masses.
Preaching at the Canaanland Counselling Centre, Umuoma, Ezinihitte Mbaise, Imo State during the covenant day of wonders, Fr. Ebere, popularly known as Fr. E – Dey – Work reminded the present Federal and State Governments of the need to abandon the current economic policies which have thrown the people into abject penury.
The fiery Priest expressed sadness that many Nigerians have been subjected to unprecedented sufferings following the continued increase in the prices of petroleum products and suggested that if bringing back Oil subsidy is the only way to end the pains, the President should ask a matter of urgency effect such changes.
Making Biblical references, the Catholic priest pointed out that no wicked ruler escapes the wrath of the Almighty and enjoined those in Authority to emulate Christ whose life dwelt main on caring for the needy and the oppressed.
Fr. E – Dey – Work who had a longtime ago prophesied that a bag of rice would be sold at over one hundred thousand Naira, however assured Nigerians that he was foreseeing a new Nigeria where the wickedness of the Leaders would be very minimal.
He reminded Members of the current party in power to remember that they succeeded another party that had reigned for nearly two decades and urged them to learn from history.
The Catholic Priest who preached on the theme “engaging the God of wonders in hard times”, charged Christians not to be discouraged by the current hardship, pointing out that the presence of such bitting situations leads to harvesting of God’s wonders and goodness.
Fr. Ebere therefore challenged them to always depend on God, embrace the word of God as well as engage in fervent prayers in order to overcome any form of economic hardship and disturbing situations.
