Reject Homosexuality – Bishop Ukpong Kalu enjoins Christians

The Catholic Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, the Most Rev. Dr. Michael Ukpong Kalu has described homosexuality as a crime against nature and God.

Preaching during his maiden pastoral visit to St Michael’s Catholic Church, Ugwunchara, Umuahia, Abia State, which featured the confirmation of Nine faithful, Most Rev Ukpong Kalu made it clear that marriage is between a man and a woman, stressing that anything contrary is devilish.

The Catholic Bishop who dwelt on the sanctity of marriage as instituted by God, expressed concern over the increasing rate of infidelity among couples and solicited faithfulness in order to save families.

Bishop Ukpong Kalu noted the negative effects of social media on youths of today and called on parents to seriously monitor the activities of their children on social media platforms.

He observed that despite the fact that there was an astronomical increase in the number of churches and religious bodies, there is a high rate of criminality in society and called on all to act towards addressing this ugly trend.

Addressing the recipients of the sacrament of confirmation, the Catholic Bishop reminded them of the need to bear the mark of Christ through evangelism and challenged them to remain Ambassadors of the Church.
