As part of his efforts to promote grassroots boxing in Enugu State, Abia born Ex – International Boxer, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo has continued to traverse the nooks and crannies of the State to fish out raw talents.
Leading the Team Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo on the talent hunt exercise, the group has in this current phase visited Enugu East and Oji River Local Government Areas where potential boxers have been discovered and engaged in training.
Speaking with Hanto Daily News, Mazi Okoronkwo disclosed that their visit to Enugu East took them to Umuchigbo Community Secondary School while that of Oji River saw them touch Corpus Christi Achi and urban Secondary School.
The Ex – International Boxer said the current discoveries are expected to participate in the 8th Edition of Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly Grassroots Boxing Talent hunt tagged 2024 Edition of Rt Hon Uche Ugwu the Speaker’ s Boxing project in the 17 LGA,s of Enugu State.
While commending the speaker for his untiring efforts in empowering the Nigerian youth through sports, expressed confidence that the tournament will live up to expectations and charged Local Government Councils to key into the project.
