Indications emerged this Monday morning that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is ready to deal with the excesses of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as the party has summoned the former Rivers Governor to appear before its disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities.
Speaking in an interview with Channels TV this Monday, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed that the former Rivers State Governor has been sent a letter to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee pointing out that Wike’s statement about “putting fire in their states” in reference to PDP governors is unacceptable.
He made it clear that Wike should be able to manage his words carefully and described the statement as very disappointing, stressing that, “We weren’t expecting him to say that, and we are not with him on that to be honest with you.”
Wike, who is the only opposition member in Tinubu’s cabinet, addressed the issue during the PDP Congress in Rivers State even declared that “anyone who is angry with his position in Tinubu’s government should go and hug the transformer”.
