The Acting Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 9, Umuahia, DCP Reuben O.Abiola, has commended the Leadership and Membership of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Zone 9,Umuahia, for being alive to their social responsibility by demonstrating love for the welfare of widows of Police Officers who paid the supreme sacrifice in the service of Nigeria.
The Acting AIG, Zone 9, Umuahia, who was speaking during the presentation of household items for the upkeep of widows of Police Officers in the Zone, urged the Leadership and Membership of Police Community Relations Committees, across the country, to emulate the leading and shining examples of the Dr Collins Ugochukwu Obi led PCRC, Zone 9, Umuahia.
Presenting the household items, Dr Collins Ugochukwu Obi, appreciated members for making the kind gesture available, recalling that he has been extending such philanthropic gestures, over the years.
He prayed God to touch the well to do in society to show love to the less privileged and widows of security Officers who paid the supreme sacrifice in the course of serving the country to cushion the trauma they are facing as a result of the loss of their bread winners in the prevailing excruciating economic hardship.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, the President of Police Officers Wives Association, (POWA), Mrs Esther Uma Orji ,lauded the Chairman of PCRC, Zone 9 , Umuahia, Dr Obi, for his kind gestures and prayed God Almighty to reward them abundantly.
She therefore assured that the provisions would be put to good and effective use.
