The leadership of the Organized Labour in Abia state has taken steps to ensure total compliance and comprehensive mobilization of various Industrial unions for active participation in the strike action declared on Friday by the the joint National Headquarters of the Organized Labour (NLC&TUC) slated to commence on Monday (03/06/24).
Rising from its meeting on Saturday evening the Abia chapter resolved among other things that all industrial unions are mandated to start sensitization and mobilization of their members and for effective monitoring, unions would be assigned areas of coverage within the period of the strike.
In a communique issued at the end of the and signed by the state NLC secretary Emma Alozie, the body noted that besides the grouping, the State Monitoring Team will be on ground to monitor the group, warning that names of unions that default would be forwarded to the National Headquarters.
It further pointed out that all the groups will be headed by the leadership of the unions assigned to the groups adding that the various groups will be joined by TUC members.
The organized labour while reminding members that their future and that of families depend on the outcome of this strike action challenged all to ensure active participation.
