Oluebube Chukwu lauds Governor Otti for revitalizing public infrastructure

The Senior Special Assistant to Abia State Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu has given kudos to Governor Alex Otti for his efforts in transforming and revitalizing public service infrastructure in the State.

Speaking with Hanto Daily News this Tuesday after the Governor commissioned the fully renovated and retrofitted Nnamdi Azikiwe Secretariat abandoned for years Dr. Chukwu made it clear that the renovation of this iconic secretariat is a significant part of Dr. Otti’s agenda to revamp public service infrastructure and create conducive working environments for civil servants.

He noted that such strides will surely improve civil servants’ productivity and morale and enjoined Abia Workers to reciprocate the gesture by being more dedicated and productive.

“This is a bold step in the right direction. Governor Otti’s dedication to upgrading public infrastructure is a testament to his vision for a progressive and efficient Abia State.

“The revamped secretariat, with its modern amenities, underscores the governor’s promise to uplift Abia’s workforce and create a productive environment that reflects the state’s development agenda,” he observed.

The complex, with a capacity to house over 700 civil servants, now boasts 150 offices, four boardrooms, and a 240-seater conference hall.

Hon. Chaka Chukwumereije, the Commissioner for Lands and Housing in his speech stated that the project was executed through direct labor by the state Ministry of Lands and Housing.

According to Chaka Chukwumerije, “To restore the abandoned secretariat, an integrity test was first conducted to confirm the building’s structural soundness. Extensive reconstruction, renovation, and retrofitting followed to ensure the complex is now fit for purpose.

The renovations include the restoration of water and electricity, comprehensive furnishing, and functional upgrades to accommodate multiple ministries. The reopened complex will house four ministries permanently while providing temporary accommodation for four additional ministries.
