Old Students lament over moral decay in their Alma mata

The National President, lbeku High School Umuahia, Abia State Old Students Association, Elder lfeanyi Agbai, has called on the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uche Eme Uche, to redeploy the Principal and some members of staff of the school to return the school to its former glory.

Elder Agbai who was speaking in a meeting he had with the Class Heads of the Old Students Association of the School said the call became necessary following the alleged prevailing indiscipline and moral decadence among students of their revered Alma Mata.

Elder Agbai alleged that the nonchalant attitude of the School authorities towards the ugly situation was behind the irritating development and solicited an immediate end to such.

While revealing reports of how some students now converge on a hideout within the school premises to allegedly engage in sexual activities, among other social vices, the National President who is also a retired permanent secretary in Abia, regretted that the school management have failed to arrest the situation.

He further accused some Management and members of staff of not being punctual to school as a result of using their official hours to run their private schools.

In their separate remarks, the Class Heads of 1977 Elder Idika Kalu, his
1985 Counterpart, Mr. Olugu Okorie and that of 1978 Mr. Gbaruko Okechukwu
said that the objective of the Old Students Association of the school is not to
witch-hunt anyone but to ensure the development of the school and commended their
members for their interest towards the growth and progress of
their Alma Mater.
