As some interests continue to fuel the rumours of a rift between the incumbent Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru and his Predecessor and current Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, the Ebonyi State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Stanley Okoro has described the said rumour as unfounded and false.
Speaking in an interview with Hanto Daily News, Chief Okoro noted that the relationship between the incumbent and the former Governors is very cordial as seen in their public and private interactions and enjoined those peddling such rumours to desist.
The APC Chairman made public that Governor Nwifuru had on the 29th May, 2024 hosted Chief Umahi who laid foundation stone for a flyover project, adding that the former Governor was among those honoured by the current Ebonyi state government alongside, Senator Pius Anyim and others during the anniversary celebrations.
He described Governor Nwifuru as a bold and courageous leader who cannot be easily influenced by anyone, pointing out that the recent APC primaries for the conduct of Local government elections in Ebonyi testifies of his determination to always take bold decisions.
Chief Okoro made it clear that the Governor is only loyal to the people of Ebonyi State who elected him to serve them, stressing that he can never be loyal to any other person whose interest runs contrary to the good of the people.
“Governor Nwifuru is not a noise maker. He is a very courageous and objective leader whose total loyalty is only to the people. He does not take decisions on emotional basis but on the general good of the masses”, he pointed out.
