NBA Elections: Afam Osigwe is the new President.

Afam Osigwe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has emerged as the president-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) following the 2024 NBA election held online. 

According to Channels TV News reports, Osigwe polled   20,395, votes beating his closest rival, Tobenna Erojikwe, who scored 10,970 votes, and Chukwuka Ikwuazom (SAN), that garnered 9,007 votes.

In the position of 1st Vice-President, Sabastine Anyia defeated Bartholomew Aguegbodo while Mrs. Bolatumi Animashaun scored 26,534 votes, defeating Pius Oiwoh, with 11,121 votes to become the 2nd VIce President.

 For the 3rd Vice-President: Mrs. Zainab Garba with 23,550 votes, overcame Michael Olorunmola, who received 13,897 votes., whereas Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara secured 25,713 votes to defeat Abdulwasiu Alfa, who received 11,730 votes to emerge as General Secretary.

Others are:  Henry Ehi, Assistant General Secretary; Mrs. Blessing Udofa-Poromon, Treasurer; Mrs. Bridget Edokwe,  Publicity secretary; Miss Ebiere Ekpese,  Assistant Publicity Secretary and  Nyada Auta, Welfare Secretary.

Afam Osigwe will succeed the outgoing president, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN)
