Abia State Commissioner for Finance , Mr. Mike Akpara has made it clear that contrary to the rumours making the rounds that he takes home 10 million Naira monthly.
Addressing Newsmen at the weekly State Executive council meeting, Mr Akpara emphasised that neither him nor other Abia state government officials take home 10 million Naira monthly from the government coffers and described such rumours as unfounded.
“I want to categorically state here, that the Commissioner of Finance does not take home 10 million Naira monthly . It is not done anywhere.
” I also want to say that none of my colleagues take home such big sums of money ,they said some take home 5 million, and some others 3 million naira monthly. There is nothing like that.” Mr. Akpara stressed.
It would be recalled that stories had emerged last week of the the Abia Commissioner for finance, Mr Akpara taking home not less than N10 million while his colleagues go with between N3. 2 million and N50 million monthly.
