The spirit of philanthropy which forms the fulcrum of the teachings of the spiritual Director of Canaanland Counseling centre a.k.a E Dey work ministry, Rev Fr Dr Magnus Ebere,SDV, came to the fore on Saturday as three Adorers that that accompanied the outspoken Priest bailed a JSS one student who left her choice school, Great Grace Junior Rate, Onicha Mbaise, Imo state as a result of inability to pay feeding fee.
The JSS one student who had resigned to Fate and prayers after leaving the school a few weeks after the current term resumed because her parents couldn’t pay the feeding in the school that is tuition free courtesy of the founder, Fr. E Dey work, was already registered in the community secondary school in her village.
Hanto Daily News reports that luck smiled on the girl, named Claret that approached Father Ebere who joined his colleagues at the Vocationist Fathers community, Oparanadim, Ahiazu Mbaise to receive the new substantive Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, the Most Rev Simeon Okezuo Nwobi on his maiden visit to the congregation.
The girl who was full of tears and regrets for unceremoniously leaving the school and not informing Father Ebere of her situation wept uncontrollably.
It was at this juncture that one of the three members of the Men of honour international, (men’s group of the ministry), Chief Francis Ogbuji, Ukoromi, who was deeply touched by the pitiable development, donated five hundred thousand Naira to the girl, an action that also attracted the other two, Sir Reginald Odunze and Chief Sylvester Obasi to donate one hundred thousand Naira each to ensure she returns to Great Grace.
Overwhelmed with joy, Rev Fr Ebere described the gesture as a manifestation of the kindness of God and commended the Donors for exhibiting the true spirit of E Dey work teachings.
While expressing concern that she never knew the girl had left the school, the Catholic Priest noted that she is a brilliant student and announced that a Bank account would be opened to ensure proper management of the funds raised.
He there and then directed the girl to rush home and collect her belongings to join her colleagues who were also at the event.
