As Nigeria Marks her 64th Independence Anniversary, the immediate past member representing Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency and Member North East Development Commission, NEDC, Chief Sam Onuigbo has called for individual and collective efforts and support of Nigerians to take the country to its deserved destination.
Chief Onuigbo who made the call in a statement he released to congratulate Nigeria and indeed all Nigerians on this years Independence day celebration reaffirmed his support and belief in a one indivisible Nation, pointing out that the nation has come a long way and achieved remarkable milestones that require consolidation.
Hon Onuigbo noted with delight that Nigeria’s Democracy has remained uninterrupted and continued to grow since the present dispensation which started in 1999 and further expressed confidence that the country will attain the desired heights.
According to the former federal lawmaker, October first every year comes with nostalgic feelings for him as it is coincidentally his birthday.
“Individually and collectively, Nigeria is moving. We must make required individual and collective sacrifices for Nigeria to get to its destination”. He said.
He further emphasized that the President Ahmed Bola Tinubu government has shown the needed resolve to turn things around for good but now requires only the support of everyone, particularly, as it relates to policy formulation.
The NEDC Member also used the opportunity to salute many Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora who are breaking new grounds in different frontiers and reminded them of the need to remain the country’s Ambassadors .
