In what appeared to be a horror film, residents of owerri, the Imo State Capital, particularly, those plying the orji – okigwe road last weekend witnessed or heard the crushing of over thirty people by a trailer that lost control and rammed into vehicles on the ever busy road.
Tears flowed, wailing covered the city known for its serenity and boisterous weekend activities as many others wounded were rushed to hospitals for treatment.
However, while some were the victims, a few others escaped the incident with unbelievable explanations as to why they were lucky.
No wonder at the Wednesday weekly adoration of the Canaan land Counselling centre, popularly known as E- Dey Work located at Umuoma Ezinihitte, Mbaise, Imo State on 22/05/24, some families trouped to the Altar of God to testify their miraculous escape.
Eziada Pauline Chiawuotu Iwunna(JP), who was the first, narrated that earlier on that day, Saturday, the Spiritual Director Canaan land Counselling centre, Rev Fr Dr Magnus Ebere had prophesied to her that the grave dug for to her shall be used to bury the digger and that no coffin will enter her compound.
Mrs Iwunna who said she was at the junction waiting to board a vehicle back to her residence after visiting her daughter living at works layout, revealed that after observing the chaotic nature of the area and hearing a voice she could not resist telling her to move away from that place, she immediately started moving away.
According to her, just within a twinkle of an eye that she left there, the accident occurred.
Ugwu Christiana Obianuju who was dancing ceaselessly, excitedly informed the congregation of how the son that was in one of the buses crushed survived this ugly incident.
The mother who is a staunch adorer disclosed that while many people in the vehicle died with others seriously wounded, her son miraculously came out unhurt and without requiring any form of treatment.
On her own, Nwakaego Kelvin delightedly told the congregation that it was only this God of E- Dey Work that could have saved she and her husband from death.
Sister Nwakaego delightedly informed all looking in amazement of how the husband had stopped at the junction for something and a few seconds after leaving that place, the sound of the crash and wailing were all over the place.
Mrs Joy Ihemtuge who could be opportune to move to the Altar for the testimony told Hanto Daily News that being a lover of God and the activities of E- Dey Work ministry, she had just ended a prayer session and was returning home when the incident took place.
According to her, the trailer hit from the first to the fourth vehicle on the road but stopped before the fifth one which was taking her home.
Indeed, it was praise Galore for these families who were saved from where others ended their lives, a situation they attributed to the Grace of God flowing from the ministry.
