Imo Union, Abia State branch elects new Executive

A new Executive of the Imo State Union, Abia State branch has been elected with Nze Sampson Iwuagwu as President.

In an election peacefully conducted by its members on Sunday, Bertrand Ihegworo was elected Vice President, Hon Chijioke Okoli – Secretary , Chief Desmond Ahamefula – Assistant secretary, and Nze John Kennedy Okafor – Financial Secretary.

Others include Innocent Emereole- Treasurer, Chief Desmond Okafor – Publicity Secretary, Ibe Ukwachu – Provost 1, Prince Livinus Oparaocha – Provost 11 and M. C. Neaodu – Provost 111.

The rest are Chief Sir Emeka Opara, Chief Innocent Egbughara and Engineer Oliver Uchendu who were elected Patrons as well as Barrister J. I. Amajuoyi who is to serve as Legal Adviser.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President,Nze Sampson thanked members for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to work for realization of the objectives of the union.


Nze Iwuagwu who hails from Umunakanu Owerre in Ehime Mbano LGA vowed to bring about total unity among Imo indigenes resident in Abia and to work co-operatively with the Abia State Government. .
