Imo government is to enumerate solid minerals, mining sites and miners in the state.
Commissioner for Industries and Solid Minerals, Chief Ernest Ibejiako who disclosed this while interacting with Journalists in his office said the whole idea is to know those who are complying with the directives as it concerns the mining sector as well as those causing ecological problems.
While stating that those going contrary to the directives will face possible closure Chief Ibejiako also disclosed that government will also conduct enumeration of Industries operating in Imo state as the last one was done in 1995
.
The Commissioner pointed out that government will package the Industries for the benefits coming to small and medium scale Enterprises from the federal government.
He revealed that the Federal government has provisions to enhance Small and Medium scale Enterprises, adding that the state government wants to revive the ailing industries in the state for them to benefit.
To actualize this, Chief Ibejiako said the state government is working seriously on the Electricity Project at Egbema to ensure the provision of uninterrupted Power Supply for the Industries and other businesses in the state .
