A renowned Journalist, Matins Ori has been appointed by a former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, as his new Chief Press Secretary (CPS).
The appointment comes on the heels of the recent decision by Ihedioha whose reign was cut short by the supreme court on 15th January, 2020 to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after more than two decades of membership.
The development, according observers, is an indication that Ihedioha may soon name his new political party in preparation for the next elections where he is expected to seek the mandate of Imolites once again.
Ori, a veteran sports writer and analyst has a rich experience spanning years of robust journalism practice.
He served for over a decade at The Sun newspapers working in various capacities; he had worked as South East bureau chief, Hallmark newspaper and in 2021 he worked with the News Echo newspaper where he served as Managing Editor.
Before his appointment, Ori teamed up with Afam Echi to co-found Oriental Newspaper, a weekly tabloid that circulates in the South East and based in Owerri, Imo State.
