Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abuja, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah has commence the distribution of about 10,700 supergene palm seedlings to all communities in his constituency.
Speaking at his Onuaku Utururu while handing over the palm to the people, Hon. Ogah, described agriculture as a solution to the hunger and general hardship ravaging the country and advised people to go into farming to overcome the situation.
According to him the distribution of the supergene palm seedlings to the rural farmers is targeted to improve agriculture and also increase food sufficiency and earnings in the communities.
The National Assembly Member recalled that through palm oil production and other agricultural produce the post-Independence South East was declared the fastest growing economy and enjoined youths in particular to embrace agriculture.
Hon Ogah reiterated his determination to embark on projects capable of empowering the people in view of the current economic hardship facing them.
The event also featured the presentation of cash to the beneficiaries cutting across party lines and all strata of the constituency.
