A few days after three persons were shot and killed in Akpoha area of Afikpo North LGA Ebonyi state, another set of Suspected Gunmen have killed a ward councillor whose identity was said to be Stanley Nwaeze, alongside the local government coordinator of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Arinze Ugochukwu both in Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State.
According to reports, Arinze Ugochukwu who was said to have visited his friend Stanley Nwaeze in Enuagu and while seeing him off, both where killed by yet to be identified Gunmen.
Also, this Tuesday, Gunmen launched attack on the Ohaukwu Police Division at the Ezzamgbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State setting vehicles ablaze.
The Gunmen said to be numbering over eight, according to Eyewitnesses, who operated in a bus were faced with policemen on duty who repelled the attack as no casualty was said to have been recorded.
However, the attack disrupted the distribution of palliatives in the local government council where locals and stakeholders in the area scampered for safety.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi State, DSP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the killing of the ward councillor in Onicha and the incident at Ohaukwu this Tuesday.
He however stated that Police Operatives in the area repelled the attack but unfortunately a vehicle and motorcycle belonging to civilians were set ablaze.
