Following the non-participation of the South East States of Nigeria in the on going #EndBadGovernance protest, Ndigbo have been lauded for shunning the protest which would have otherwise exposed them to danger and vengeance by ethnic bigots and their Agents.
The commendation came via communique issued after a meeting of critical stakeholders of Igbo Nine Development Initiative, a Social -Cultural Organization of South East States Extraction, in Umuahia, capital of Abia State, on Monday to thoroughly analysis and review of current burner developments in the Country.
In the communique endorsed by Abia State Coordinator, Comrade Lucky Akabuike, and Secretary, Comrade Uzomba Ekwuribe, the group pointed out that Ndigbo, without exception, deserve a grand commendation for demonstrating uncommon oneness, resilience and unity, for the first time.
The body noted that the act has succeeded in erasing the myopic and negative perception that Ndigbo have no respect for the opinion of their leaders.
“That Ndigbo’s wholesale refusal to acknowledge and participate in the ravaging Street Protest against mal-administration and hunger deftly countered their former penchant for being in the forefront against perceived wrongs as a demonstration of their palpable strength, wisdom and courage which ultimately peached them against the rest of the country earning them undeserved and misplaced hatred, envy, exclusion and barefaced marginalization”,the group observed.
The socio – cultural organization therefore called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to adequately demonstrate commitment and appreciation to Ndigbo for refusing to participate in the Street Protest by ensuring early take off and adequate funding of the South East Development Commission.
The group also commended South East Governors, particularly their Chairman, Senator Hope Uzodinma, for leading his brother Governors and other critical stakeholders in the successful sensitization of Ndigbo which resulted in the uncommon and commendable move for self-discovery, unity, resilience and self-first mantra.
