Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has suspended the first commissioner in his cabinet since assuming office about a year ago.
Reports have it that the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo has been suspended following allegations of some infractions regarding the execution of her assigned duties.
Confirming the suspension, a top Government Official who spoke to Hanto Daily News said the decision is to enable the Dr Otti administration objectively examine the allegations.
While sounding it loud and clear that Dr Okoronkwo has not been indicted, the source assured that Government will make its findings public at the end of the investigations.
Since assuming office, the Governor has not hidden his intention to work with only people who dedicated to the service of Abia.
To many political observers, the suspension of Dr Okoronkwo came as a surprise considering various intricate decisions taken by her and the present administration in the attempt to revamp the sector.
