Governor Otti commissions classroom block renovated by Hon Umeh Nwachi

A – five – classroom block, reconstructed at Nneato Secondary School in Umunneochi LGA by the member representing Umunneochi State Constituency and the Deputy Majority Leader of the Abia House of Assembly, Mr. Mathias Ume Nwachi has been commissioned by the State Governor, Dr Alex Otti.

Speaking during the event Governor Otti lauded Mr. Ume Nwachi, for making education one of his cardinal constituency projects and encouraged him to sustain the tempo in view of the premium placed on the educational sector by the present administration.

The Governor represented by his deputy, Chief Ikechukwu Emetu made it clear that government will no longer tolerate unwarranted encroachment into school lands and advised those who indulge in such unwholesome practices to steer clear or face the full wrath of the law.

He pointed out that the crushing of insecurity in the area and other parts of the state indicates government’s desire to enhance security in all the schools and protect the lives of pupils and students.

Dr. Otti further reminded the people that it is mandatory for all children of school age to be in school during school periods, warning that parents of any child found hawking or loitering during school period shall be prosecuted.

In his speech, the member representing Umunneochi state constituency and deputy majority leader in the Abia State House of Assembly Mr. Mathias Ume Nwachi, stated that the constituency project is in fulfillment of one of his campaign promises to the people of Umunneochi, pointing out that it is in alliance with the Governor’s vision of prudence, transparency and accountability.

Expressing his feelings, the Principal Nneato Senior Secondary School, Mr. Ihionu J I, thanked GovernornAlex Otti, for placing high premium on transforming the education industry through his unwavering commitment and determination to revive the entire educational sector and implored him to consider the school in the on-going renovation and retrotrfitting of schools in the state.

He commended Mr. Umeh Nwachi for the gesture which has brought conducive atmosphere for learning in the school and prayed God to bless him.
