Fr. Edey work vows to keep feeding the poor.

Fiery and outspoken Catholic priest, Rev Father Dr Magnus Ebere, SDV, popularly known as Father E dey work has vowed to sustain his on – going “feeding the poor programme” to save the masses from hunger and address their health needs.

Father Ebere who is the founder E dey work counselling centre lamented the present economic hardship facing Nigerians following the removal of petroleum subsidy and other harsh policies that have brought the people to an unprecedented suffering.

Speaking at one of the centers visited to offer free medical services, distribute food, water and clothing to the poor and the needy in Owerri, the Imo State capital, the Catholic priest described the current state of hunger in the country as, embarrassing, extremely dangerous and dehumanizing and appealed to the well to do Nigerians to join him in giving the people succour.

He assured that he will not relent efforts in providing for the hungry and the needy in line with the basic teachings of Jesus Christ, pointing out that his ministry has the Godly mandate of ensuring relief for the downtrodden.

According to him, “my mandate on earth is to help the poor, those who cannot fend for themselves and the less privileged. No matter what it takes me, I will keep feeding the poor in our midst because many cannot even afford a square meal today as a result of the harsh economy. For me, feeding the poor and helping the needy must remain the top priority of every Child of God “

Father E dey work reminded Christians of the need to help those in need, arguing that God bestowed wealth on the rich for the purpose of assisting and blessing the poor and the needy.

The second phase of the programme has as at the time of this report by Hanto Daily News visited seven centers in Owerri including Road safety, Fire service, Ogbo osisi market Naze, Imo State University junction, Wetheral road junction, Akwakuma junction and Orji junction where food, water and clothings as free medical services worth over millions of naira have been distributed to the people.
