In its effort to ensure hitch – free Independence celebration in its area of jurisdiction, the FCT Police Command has announced that traffic diversions will be implemented across the city as Nigeria celebrates her 64th independence anniversary.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Josephine Adeh in a statement issued this Monday assured that adequate personnel and equipment have been deployed throughout the FCT for this purpose .
“Traffic diversions will be implemented in areas expected to experience large crowds, including Central Area and Eagle Square,” the statement added.
The command noted that the deployments aim to ensure that residents of the FCT enjoy a smooth Independence Day celebration.
It also listed the deployment to include Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) personnel, anti-riot equipment, and visibility policing, among others.
The command called on residents of the FCT to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements or activities to the FCT Police.
