Enugu north LG receives Young Boxing Champion

In its bid to continue encouraging the development of grassroots sports for the discovery of future talents, Enugu North Local Government Area of Enugu State has received and recognized one of the winners of champion of Champions at 7th/2023 Edition of Rt Hon Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly Grassroots Boxing talent hunt exercise, Master Victory Nnaji.

Receiving the Golden student who came tops in the grassroots Boxing talent hunt exercise coordinated by Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo and co – sponsored by the Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche C Ugwu, the Head of personnel Management, Enugu North LGA, Mrs. Ugwu Roseline Ngozika commended the young boy for bringing honour to the council area and presented him with cash gift while assuring further assistance to enable him pursue his academic and sporting careers.

She also thanked the Speaker Enugu House of Assembly, Rt, Hon. Ugwu and the Coordinator of the grassroot Boxing talent hunt exercise and Ex – International Boxer, Mazi Okoronkwo for providing the students the opportunity to showcase their talents and called for the sustenance of the project.

Speaking while presenting the champion to the council, Mazi Okoronkwo described young Victor Nnaji as a rare talent that must be encouraged to excel, pointing out that his boxing skills dazzled all dignitaries that graced the grand finale of the boxing tournament.

He called on the authorities of Local Government Councils in the State to invest in grassroots sports development programmes for the good of their youths and society in general.

Baring their mind, the parents of Victory Nnaji appreciated the Speaker Enugu House of Assembly, Enugu North Local Government Management lead by the Head of Personnel management and the coach for the gesture as well as the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah for creating enabling environment for professional like Ikechukwu Okoronkwo to raise talents in the state
