Various local Government Areas in Enugu State whose Boxers /Athletes won laurels at the recently held 7th edition of Rt. Hon. Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly Grassroots Boxing talent hunt exercise have been hosting their boxing Ambassadors to receptions.
Just few days after Enugu North hosted Champion, Master Victory Nnaji, authorites of Igbo-etiti and Igbo-Eze South Local Government Areas joined the fray as they honoured their representatives who made them proud at the fiesta.
At Igbo – etiti, Ugwu Sopuruchi and Ugwuja favour that were discovered from Igbo-etiti LGA at the Grassroots Boxing Talent Hunt exercise co – ordinated by Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo were received by the management of Igboetiti LGA lead by the HPM, Nwagbowo Jennifer.
Speaking during the event, Nwagbowo lauded the state Government and the Speaker for providing the opportunity for the students and announced a cash reward to the Boxers to support their further training and Education,
The Female Student Boxers from CSS Ohodo won various medals and were awarded certificate and Cash at the tournament.
At Igbo-Eze South, winners including: Obinna Favour Chukwuebuka, Ogbonna Precious Chinecherem, Asogwa Destiny Ebube and Ugwoke Nicodemus Chinecherem were honoured for achieving the feat.
The Director of Administration Igbo-Eze South LGA, Agbo Chika who led the management Team expressesd joy over the laurels won by these Boxers and thanked the organisers for a job well done.
He pledged the council’s total support to the athletes and presented them with awards.
Baring his mind, the coordinator of the tournament and Ex – International Boxer, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo thanked the Local Government Areas for showing enthusiasm and called for more support for the development of sports.
