As the #EndBadGovernance protests entered the third day this Saturday, Protesters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, dramatically obstructed Governor Siminalayi Fubara, insisting that he comes down to address them.
Reports have it that the protesters who were waving green leaves and shouting in excitement, lined up the streets and on sighting the Governor’s convoy demanded that he address them and after some moments, the governor’s convoy passed as the demonstrators continued with the rallies.
The protesters had converged on the Pleasure Park in the city with placards, and insisting they would not leave until their demands were met.
According to reports Saturday’s protests were largely peaceful across the Rivers capital and Security operatives were also on the ground on the day.
However, it was a different ball game in the federal capital. territory as Police authorities fired tear gas at protesters at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja in a bid to disperse the demonstrators who had converged to press on with their demands.
The protesters, lesser than the number witnessed the previous days, had converged on the facility, designated as the venue for the protests in the nation’s capital as directed by a court order, but witnessed police officers firing tear gas canisters to disperse the protesters who had been there for sometime.
