There are fears that a police aide to the Chairman Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority, Chief Uche Anya may have lost his life as a large contingent of security personnel reported to be soldiers allegedly stormed the Independence layout home of the Chairman in a dramatic commando-style operation on Sunday.
According to Everyday news Nigeria, unconfirmed reports from Local sources also indicated that Chief Anya’s gatekeeper was whisked away as well.
The reports further alleged that the said soldiers arrived in force, deploying numerous Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and gun trucks and before abducting the Chairman.
Everyday News Nigeria quotes the sources as saying “The men arrived around 2:30am. When we ventured outside after they had left, we found stains of blood on the floor and noticed that gunfire had shattered the windscreens of vehicles parked at the residence.”
