Unspecified number of staff of Dangote cement were on Monday evening reportedly abducted by Gunmen with several others also said to have been shot.
The workers were returning from work when they were ambushed by suspected bandits at Okpella in Edo, a town near Okene (Kogi state).
Eye Witness account said it was unclear how many people were wounded or the severity as at the time of filing this report
According to the report, “Other people are in the bush. My colleague has bullet wounds.
“A coaster bus filled with staff was attacked at Okpella by Kidnappers, they took our staff”,he bemoaned
Reacting to the development, Michael Odofin, a spokesperson for Okpella Cement Plc, confirmed the incident but refused to give details.
“I cannot give any details right now. The attack is still fresh. We have no one killed,” said Mr Odofin.
