The Anglican Diocese of Owerri has enlarged the circle of her confirmed Faithful with over one hundred and twenty Anglican youths of Avu Archdeaconry receiving the sacrament of confirmation at a service Emmanuel Anglican church Avu, Owerri -West LGA.
Performing the spiritual assignment at Emmanuel Anglican church Avu, Owerri -West LGA, the Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Owerri, Right Reverend Chukwuma Opara charged them to stand firm for Jesus Christ by living exemplary lives.
Bishop Opara reminded them that the church is looking up to them to take political leadership roles in society and prayed that the holy spirit will empower them to excel in worshipping God and in their life endeavours.
In a sermon, the Bishop’s Chaplain, the Rev Patrick Eze who urged christians to hand over everything about their lives to the Holy Spirit called on the confirmed candidates to always be prayerful, trust in God and have faith in the Holy Spirit.
In his remarks,the Archdeacon of Avu Archdeaconry, Venerable Davison Opurum thanked Bishop Opara for the pastoral visit and prayed God to bless him Ministry.
The occasion featured the laying of the Foundation stone of Women Ministries Plaza and that of EFAC stores Avu by the Bishop.
