The coordinator, 7th edition of the Speaker Enugu State Grassroots Boxing Talent Hunt Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo says everything is ready for the event slated to hold from the 24th to the 26th of June 2024.
Speaking with Hanto Daily News, Mazi Okoronkwo who is also the Technical Adviser and Chairman Action Committee on Sports Literacy disclosed that the Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Uche C Ugwu, has approved the State Finals Boxing Competition programme as projected by the Co ordinator and Enugu State Boxing Association.
While restating that venue is still the Parliament Hall, PSSMB Headquarters, Mazi Okoronkwo pointed out that the arrival date of the Boxers remain 19th June 2024 at Enugu State Sports Council.No 7 Nkponkiti Road Enugu whereas selection of the finalists will be at Sports Council Boxing arena.
The Ex International Boxer further revealed that the Finals and Ceremony comes up Wednesday 26th June 2024.
The competition which will feature about Six hundred young boxers from all parts of the state, both Male and Female Secondary School Students, is expected to harness future talents that will not only bring glory to Enugu State but to the country and the African Continent.
