As Abians in the diaspora continue to identify with the present administration under Governor Alex Chioma Otti, members of the Abia union, Denmark and South Sweden have decided to showcase the cultural heritage of the state in August, 2024.
The event which will be part of the 2024 Abia Day celebration by the Association is slated for Saturday, 17th August, 2024 at Copenhagen.
A release jointly endorsed by the Chairman, Okechukwu Okoye and Coordinator, Emmanuel Ike says the idea is to celebrate Abia, God’s own state in a Grand style in far away Europe before the world as a way of marketing the state for investment.
The release states that popular cultural troupes including, the popular war dance (ikpirikpi ogu), Abia women dance, Ohaneze cultural dance and procession, Igba Ndieze and ogene Enugu, are expected to perform at the event which will also feature talent hunt and Abia dishes.
