In a move to recapture power in Abia, the state’s chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has elected new leadership to pilot the affairs of the Party that prided itself as the large in Africa with Abraham Amah as the New State Chairman.
Ama who was a former zonal Vice Chairman and publicity secretary of the party scored 1264 votes to defeat his closest rivalry Olugu Kalu who came second with 395 votes.
Also elected are The zonal Chairmen including :Abia Central, Onwuka Kalu – Abia Central, Enyinnaya Apollos ( a former Chief press Secretary to former Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu)- Abia South and Elendu Kalu Elendu for Abia North.
The new leadership is expected to reposition the PDP for the 2027 general elections having lost power after over about two decades in power.
