True to its earlier pronouncement to form a shadow Government in Abia State, the state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Elder Abraham Amah has announced the appointment of some Abians to serve in the Abia State Shadow Government (ABSSHG) .
A release endorsed by the Publicity Secretary Abia chapter of the PDP, Eric Ikwuagwu names those appointed to include Jude Udeachara – Shadow Commissioner for Trade and investment, Bar Bob Ogu -Justice and Attorney General, and Obinna Don Norman (ADC State Chairman) – Policy and projects evaluation
Others are: Chief Uche Aguoru – Shadow Commissioner for Due process and project implementation monitoring, Prof SK Orie – Education & local content development, Bar Ukpai Ukairo – Human rights & Ombudsman, Chinonye Mba – youth development and Dr. Moses Orji – Information and policy strategy.
The rest include: Chioma Nelda Shadow Commissioner for Women Development, Dr Ike Onyeweaku – Agriculture; Barr. Henry Chilaka – Local Government & Community development as well as
Chief Kingsley Nna Okadigbo – Homeland security
The release says the appointments reflect the party’s commitment to holding the Abia State government accountable to its responsibility to Abia citizens, scrutinise actions, inactions and policies of Abia government; as well as offer alternative opinions.
“These appointments are part of our ongoing efforts to build a robust alternative solution for governance that is responsive to the needs and aspirations of our citizens.
“The members of the Abia State Shadow Government are tasked with not only providing alternative viewpoints, but also to conduct research, and offer recommendations on policies that affect the lives of our people.
“We believe that by empowering capable individuals to take on these shadow roles, we can strengthen the democratic process and work collaboratively towards a prosperous and united Abia State.”
