Abia PDP commiserates with the Police over slain personnel.

The Abia State Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere has on behalf of the leadership of the party in State and the entire Abia PDP family commiserated with the Inspector General of Police, IGP, the government and people of Abia State, and the families of the two policemen who were killed at Opobo Junction in Aba on Friday.

A release endorsed by the Vice Chairman and Acting Publicity Secretary, Abraham Amah described the incident as another sad development for Abia, and a rude shock, considering that Abia is still dealing with the unpleasant consequences of the killing of soldiers at Obikabia Junction, also in Aba, barely a month ago.

While describing it as one killing too many, Abia PDP condemned this barbaric act in its totality and made it clear
that the trend calls for a moment of solemn reflection for the government.

The PDP therefore urged the State government to rejig its security architecture and ensure that it collaborates with relevant agencies to become more preventive in its approach to securing the lives and properties of Abians.

The Opposition party however reminded Abians that since security is everyone’s business, everyone should help the government and security agencies secure lives and properties by remaining vigilant at all times.

It further called on the security agencies not to be deterred in their duties because of these ugly incidents, while appealing to the Inspector General of Police to ensure that the families of the slain policemen are adequately taken care of by the police authorities to prove that their labour was not in vain.

The PDP also prayed God to give the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of their loved ones.
