Abia Govt to commence distribution of Transformers

Abia state Government says it will soon commence the distribution of fifty (50) transformers to select communities across the state.

Addressing Newsmen at the end of this week’s Abia State EXCO meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti, the Commissioner for power and public utilities Mr Ikechukwu Monday that government would soon resuscitate the rural electrification projects in the rural communities.

Mr Monday assured that the rural electrification initiative of the state government is set to be executed in the three senatorial zones of the state, noting that over 2,500 solar powered lights had been installed across the state, majorly between Umuahia, Aba and Ohafia including Abia state University and some government institutions.

He further announced that the revamping of Ariaria and Ubakala water projects would soon commence, pledging that the provision of social amenities remains a priority of the Dr Otti led administration

Responding to questions, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma dismissed the rumour making the rounds that the staff of office of the newly coronated Eze Aro, Dr. Eberechukwu Oji has been withdrawn from him, adding the state government did not receive any court order to that effect.
