Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti says nothing will distract him from the cause of rebuilding the state in line with the aspirations of the people.
The governor, who stated this in his New Year broadcast to the people assured that his administration will consolidate on the successes recorded so far, reiterating that his commitment to rebuilding public infrastructure remains unshakable.
While highlighting the successes his administration has recorded in road infrastructure across the state, Governor Otti announced that Government will soon perform the foundation stone laying for Abia Medical City to put to an end foreign medical trip and make Abia a destination for medical tourism.
He made it clear that the law mandating all children of school age to be in school starts today, (1/1/25), re-emphasizing that it is now an offense for such children not to be in school.
The Governor pointed out that with the introduction of free education from primary to secondary schools and scrapping of all payments, parents have no reason not to send their children to school.
Governor Otti further made public that his administration is setting aside Eighteen point Nine billion naira to support economically unstable citizens, while agriculture is being given attention to sufficient food production and employment.
He however urged all to support his administration through prompt payment of taxes and other levies.
