Abia state Government says the issue of upload of requisite credentials for civil/public servants in the State is as a result of government’s discovery of lack of requisite credentials by some civil servants and not another phase of verification exercise.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture Prince Okey Kanu who stated this while addressing newsmen on the outcome of this week’s Executive council meeting chaired by Governor Alex Ottimade it clear that it is not another phase of verification exercise as alleged by the State Chapter of NLC.
Prince Kanu frowned at the statement by the Nigerian Labour Congress, Abia state Chapter directing Abia state civil and public servants in MDAS and the 17 LGAS not to partake in the online upload of requisite documents as requested by the state government.
He lamented that the Abia NLC has not been fair to the state government which he said has been committed to improving the welfare of Abia workers and wondered why the NLC with unhindered access to government could not get clarification before taking the matter to the media
On infrastructe, Prince Kanu who announced that the grand breaking for the modular refinery cited in the Abia Innovation and industry park, Owaza will be performed in six weeks’ time noted that the perennial flooding for which Aba is known is fast disappearing.
He disclosed that 15 more road projects are ongoing in the state in addition to many already commissioned, adding that the newly reconstructed Dozie way road Umuahia will soon be commissioned following the completion of its drainage work.
