Abia Governorship: Be mindful of your utterances, Megwara warns Politicians

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Ohuhu in Umuahia North L.G.A, Chief Kingsley Megwara has urged politicians to be mindful of their utterances and refrain from acts which could become inimical to the harmony, development and progress of the state.

Chief Megwara who made the statement while rubbing minds with Newsmen on issues of governance in the state, remarked that it is still very early for those elected in 2023 to begin to elevate discussions or place in the front burner, issues of 2027 general elections, at a time they should be fully engrossed with delivering democracy dividends to the people who elected them a little over a year ago.

The PDP Chieftain also challenged elected officials especially the State and National Assembly legislators across the state to join forces and efforts with the Governor of the state in responding to the situation of economic hardship and other developmental and social challenges facing their constituents rather than grant media interviews that can unnecessarily heat up the polity.

Chief Megwara who commended Governor Alex Otti for the visible improvement in Infrastructure and other programmes so far recorded by his administration however enjoined him to allow room for constructive engagements as he strives to do more for the people.

He maintained that so long as the administration of Governor Otti continues to impress the majority of Abians who overwhelmingly elected her in 2023, nothing can affect the people’s mandate from being renewed in 2027 except God rules otherwise.
